Car Warranties in Carlisle

At Border City, we ensure that all of our quality used cars are properly maintained and serviced while in our showroom. However, we understand that cars are mechanical and faults and issues are to be expected, which is why we include 3 months warranty and a minimum of 6 months MOT with all our vehicles. It's important to us that we look after our customers and their cars after the sale has been finalised, and we can also provide extended warranty cover from 12 to 24 months courtesy of Momentum Warranties.

Our warranties provide varying levels of coverage from Secure, Platinum and Platinum Plus plans and all cover the following components:

Maintenance Cover

  • Coverage for parts and labour costs as well as repairs following a Manufacturer's Recommended Service.

Engine

  • Rocker assembly valves and guides, cylinder head gaskets, push rods, cam-shaft and cam followers, timing gears and chains, oil pump, pistons, piston pins and rings, cylinder bores, connecting rods and bearings, crankshaft and bearings, distributor drive gear, distributor drive auxiliary shaft and bushes, internal bushes, flywheel and ring gear.

Cooling System

  • Radiator, heater matrix, heater motor, oil cooler, water pump, head gasket, thermostat and thermostat housing, viscous fan.

Fuel System

  • Carburettor, fuel pump, fuel injection, metering unit, air vane meter, pump and injectors, choke unit.

Driveline

  • Front and rear-wheel drive vehicles: Open drive shafts including constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings. Rear-wheel drive half shafts, half-shaft bearings. Includes front and rear transfer shafts 4x4 vehicles. (excluding gaiters and viscous couplings).

Electrical System

  • Window motors, engine management unit, door mirror motors, distributor, ignition coil, electric ignition, windscreen wiper motors, thermostatically controlled cooling fan motor, speedometer head, horn, headlight lift motors, headlight wash pump motor, factory fitted central locking and sunroof motor.

Gearbox

  • Gears, torque converter, clutch and brake bands, oil pump, shafts, bearings and bushes, valve block, governors, synchromesh hubs, selectors, shafts.

Steering and suspension

  • Power steering rack, power steering pump, power steering box and idler box. (excluding gaiters, tracking and balancing).

Braking System

  • Brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake bias/restrictor valve. (excluding: corroded, seized or leaking components).
